WHO IS JACLYN and How did she get Here ? I have been homeless, myself. The first time, I was forced from my home, which also served as an Alternative Supplimetary School in St. Croix Virgin Islands, through the ripple effect of a post hurricane Home Invasion . I stayed with my daughter in California, until I got a job in Florida, as the Director & Translator of a Child Care/Pre-School. During that time, I purchased another home to live close to my new job. . From my new income, I was trying to effect repairs of the Virgin Island Home, due to mismanagement, on site, and destruction from disgruntled tenants, as well as paying two mortgages. After achieving all the goals set for me by the Child Care Directors, I resigned, conditionally, giving them 6 months to train a replacement. Becoming angry, they dismissed me, on the spot. I interviewed and chose new tenants for my Florida house, while I stayed with a friend and pursued another income and career. Those new tenants decided to break the lease and take all of the appliances, as well. Being unable to further sustain the expense and stress, I gave up both homes to the banks. I began my new career, as a massage therapist, in a rental duplex in Bradenton, Florida's Village of the Arts, saving my money to buy. Soon, I bought and remodeled a new home and massage/wellness establishment, into the Island ambiance that I so loved, as well as remodeling the site to accommodate transitional housing for the homeless who were being financially stalemated by their other housing options. We developed ground rules and a money management processes. All was well, until my flawed mortgage became impossible to sustain after the incomes of my clientele dried up in the 2011 economic crisis. I finally became resigned to the fact that I would loose my home/establishment and started making alternate plans in designing and building my Tiny House on Wheels (See TinyHouseAlternatives.com). But, "stuff happens," and it's construction got way behind schedule, and I was evicted with nothing but a house frame on a flatbed, plus accumulated materials and appliances. Again, due to outside circumstances, I was homeless. But, I had faith something would happen, and it did. Three strangers, friends of a friend, with adjoining properties, offered me a place to stay and build my Tiny House. As soon as it was dried in, I moved in, in 2012, and camped there, until, gradually my home was completed, and I was ready to take my life of adventure and community service, on the road. I extended my stay in Florida, beyond my scheduled departure date, to offer a plan, and my assistance to the cities with homelessness, of Florida. Their processes of success, could form the foundation for future successes, with my affordable step-by-step protocol to participants, coast to coast, Bay to Bay, through this site.
