The Town Meeting called at Whitaker Park on Sunday, afternoon, generated excellent discussion between members of the Homeless and Greater Community, and gained more supporters, including pastor and family of the King of Kings Charismatic Episcopal Church, who volunteered to build a prototype of the Micro Pod, first homes.
On Monday, I resubmitted my 18 page "Crisis Intervention Plan" Step-by-Step Guide to the Joint City/County Council Meeting. Sty and Michelle spoke, after which they were besieged by TV news reporters who interviewed them.
I now have an appointment with the MAIN MAN who has the ear of the City/County Commissioners, who is reviewing my Healing Homelessness “Crisis Intervention Plan” and wants to talk about it. Now, this IS NEWS ! I was hoping to take the two Homeless Advance Guards, you see pictured, a Residential Neighbor of the proposed Micro Pod Village and the Director of the Main Street Business Owner's Association to the meeting with me to voice their support of the plan, but, we have been asked to wait on that.
1-I am offering, as a free gift to this city, an 18 page, step-by- step guide that you can can begin implementation, TODAY, are willing to, and have theHOMELESS OFF THE STREETS within a WEEK, to IMMEDIATELY respond to the cries of YOUR CONSTITUENTS’ to resolve the CRISIS of hopelessness and agitation they are feeling on all levels. Parts of this plan have already been implemented in other cities of the Nation and Florida, and at a much greater cost to individuals & the city than mine. So there is no legal, financial, ethical or moral reason for not adopting this plan and resolve the Crisis, Immediately.
2- Although my whole plan addresses the 4 levels of social and human development, I am focusing, now, on the VERY FIRST, MOST FUNDAMENTAL NEED OF ALL IN THIS CITY: Their need for, and right to, a sense of safety, security and well-being.
3. The proposed Oversight Committee, core to the success of this project , will be composed of members from every segment of the city’s interest. This Crisis Intervention Plan will be facilitated through them, and higher levels of my plan, and proposals by other interest groups, may, be considered and addressed as each sequential step is accomplished and ready for the next, until they can be integrated into other plans being developed, and as they become available.
4-The cost is negligible, since it relies primarily on giving tax credits for volunteerism and donations.
5 The homeless are allowed to EARN back their human dignity and sense of self worth, by IMMEDIATELY contributing their efforts to this Action Plan and Community Service.
6. Once the homeless have a place to go, those CHOOSING to be vagrants should be arrested and given a choice between entering the program, or being escorted out of town with a non-refundable bus ticket. Once notified, those individuals or organizations that wish to continue to donate food and clothing to the homeless, may do so ONLY through the auspices of this program. Those who continue street “feedings,” or distributions will be issued citations, with fines, as a “PUBLIC NUISANCE.”
7- I am submitting a map of the proposed, city owned, site that has more than enough room to accommodate, 153 Tiny House Micro Pods, getting approximately 180 Homeless off the Streets within a week from implementation. The Residents of this Homeless Village already have a designated entrance, all services them from the host facility, will be provided before and after business hours, so the Residents of the Village will not interfere, in any way, with the host facility’s functions or staff.
8- An anonymous reporting/suggestion process plus security lights and cameras will expose those breaking the rules, causing agitation with other members of the Village, or EARNING their unsupervised access to the public.
